Description

Delicious and crispy oat and cheese patties perfect for a snack or a light meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g rolled oats
  • 100g grated cheese (e.g., cheddar or gouda)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying
  • Fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or chives) for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, grated cheese, chopped onion, and grated carrot.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add them to the oat mixture.
  3. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper, mixing well until all ingredients are fully combined.
  4. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the oats to absorb moisture.
  5. Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Once the oil is hot, form the mixture into patties and place them in the pan, leaving space between each one.
  7. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the bratlings from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding spices like paprika or cumin.
  • These patties can be frozen and reheated later for a quick meal.
