Description

A refreshing and low-carb dessert that combines the flavors of orange and cream for a perfect jello treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed or from concentrate)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 packet sugar-free orange gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup powdered protein (vanilla or orange flavored)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or coconut cream
  • Sweetener to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of orange juice and 2 cups of water. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it’s warm but not boiling.
  2. Stir in the sugar-free orange gelatin, allowing it to dissolve completely, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup of cold water and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  4. Once bloomed, add the bloomed gelatin to the warm orange mixture, stirring until fully dissolved.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat. Add the powdered protein, stirring continuously until well mixed.
  6. If desired, sweeten the mixture to your taste using a low-carb sweetener.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream or coconut cream until fully blended.
  8. Transfer the mixture into individual serving cups or a large bowl, then refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, or until set.
  9. Once set, serve chilled and enjoy!
