Description

These juicy Keto Butter Burgers are infused with butter, creating a flavorful low-carb burger perfect for the ketogenic lifestyle. Ready in under 20 minutes, they are ideal for busy weeknight dinners and versatile with various keto-friendly toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 ounces cheese of your choice
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Onion powder to taste (optional)
  • Garlic powder to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and optional garlic and onion powders. Mix gently with your fingertips until just combined.
  2. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and form each into a ball.
  3. Create a deep indentation in the center of each ball with your thumb.
  4. Place approximately 2 teaspoons of butter into each indentation.
  5. Carefully seal the butter inside by folding the meat over it and reshaping into a patty about 3/4-inch thick.
  6. Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes until hot.
  7. Place the patties in the hot pan, leaving space between them. Cook for 3-4 minutes without moving them to develop a nice crust.
  8. Flip the burgers carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer them more well-done.
  9. Add cheese slices on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover the pan with a lid to help the cheese melt quickly.
  10. Remove from heat and let the Keto Butter Burgers rest for 1-2 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

  • Don’t overwork the meat for the most tender burgers.
  • Cold butter works best for a dramatic melty effect.
  • Store cooked Keto Butter Burgers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze uncooked patties for up to 3 months.
