Description
A classic Mexican dip made from ripe avocados, often served with tortilla chips.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1–2 fresh jalapeños, seeded and minced
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into the molcajete.
- Using a pestle, mash the avocados to your desired consistency—smooth or chunky.
- Add the finely chopped onion and minced jalapeños to the mashed avocado.
- Squeeze the juice of one lime over the avocado mixture.
- Stir in the chopped cilantro and add salt to taste.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite dishes.
Notes
- For a spicier guacamole, add more jalapeños.
- Fresh lime juice helps prevent the avocados from browning.
