Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)
- 8 slider buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 cup coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing
- 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños (optional)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat.
- Make the Patties: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into slider-sized patties.
- Grill the Patties: Place the patties on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
- Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, cut the slider buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.
- Prepare the Coleslaw: In a separate bowl, mix together the coleslaw mix and ranch dressing until well coated. Set aside.
- Assemble the Sliders: On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a cheesy patty. Top with a generous spoonful of coleslaw, a drizzle of extra BBQ sauce, and jalapeños if desired. Finish with the top half of the bun.
- Serve: Arrange the sliders on a platter, garnish with fresh cilantro if using, and serve hot with your favorite sides or additional BBQ sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the beef mixture.
- If you don’t have a grill, you can cook the patties in a skillet on the stovetop.
- Ensure your coleslaw is well-chilled before assembling for a refreshing contrast.
