Description
Chicken Satay is a delicious dish featuring marinated chicken skewers grilled to perfection, served with a creamy peanut sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into thin strips
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (for the sauce)
- Wooden skewers (soaked in water)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and brown sugar.
- Add the chicken strips to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- While the chicken is marinating, prepare the peanut sauce. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the coconut milk, peanut butter, lime juice, and soy sauce. Stir until smooth and heated through.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken strips onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Grill the chicken skewers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and nicely charred.
- Remove from the grill and serve with the warm peanut sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Make sure to soak the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.
- Adjust the thickness of chicken strips for even cooking during grilling.
