Description

Hello, dinner enthusiasts! If you’re craving a classic, flavor-packed side dish that elevates any meal, this Caesar Salad recipe is a must-try. With buttery sourdough croutons and a luscious, homemade Caesar dressing, this recipe is a true dinner delight.

Ingredients

Scale

For the dressing:

  • 2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp anchovy paste
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Juice of 1 lemon (~3 tbsp)
  • ½ cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • ⅓ cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese (plus more for garnish)
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste

For the sourdough croutons:

  • 4 cups sourdough bread, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the salad:

  • 24 oz romaine hearts, chopped

Instructions

Step1: Prepare the Dressing

  1. Combine garlic paste, anchovy paste, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, mayonnaise, cheese, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Whisk until smooth and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Step2: Make Sourdough Croutons

  • Toss sourdough pieces with melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Air fry at 400°F for 4 minutes or bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Step3: Assemble the Salad

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the romaine lettuce.
  2. Toss the lettuce with Caesar dressing and top with croutons and shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Notes

  • Cheese substitution: Use parmesan if you don’t have Parmigiano-Reggiano.
  • Dry lettuce is key: Ensure the romaine is completely dry to help the dressing stick.
  • Make ahead: Prep the dressing and croutons in advance, but assemble the salad just before serving.
