Description
A delicious mango dip paired with crispy fried sushi balls, perfect for appetizers or party food.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe mango, diced
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup sushi rice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a small pot, combine the rinsed sushi rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 18 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and let the rice sit with the lid on for 10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, mayonnaise, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix until well incorporated.
- Once the sushi rice has cooled slightly, wet your hands and take a small portion of rice, about the size of a golf ball.
- Shape the rice into a ball and roll it in panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Carefully add the sushi balls, frying them until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the fried sushi balls and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve the mango poke mayonnaise dip in a bowl alongside the fried sushi balls.
Notes
- Ensure the oil is hot enough for frying to achieve crispy sushi balls.
- Adjust the amount of mango and mayonnaise to taste.
