Description

A delicious mango dip paired with crispy fried sushi balls, perfect for appetizers or party food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup sushi rice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a small pot, combine the rinsed sushi rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 18 minutes.
  3. Once cooked, remove from heat and let the rice sit with the lid on for 10 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, mayonnaise, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix until well incorporated.
  5. Once the sushi rice has cooled slightly, wet your hands and take a small portion of rice, about the size of a golf ball.
  6. Shape the rice into a ball and roll it in panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Carefully add the sushi balls, frying them until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Remove the fried sushi balls and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve the mango poke mayonnaise dip in a bowl alongside the fried sushi balls.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough for frying to achieve crispy sushi balls.
  • Adjust the amount of mango and mayonnaise to taste.
