- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a shallow bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, place the chicken breasts and drizzle with olive oil, ensuring each breast is evenly coated.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the Parmesan-bread crumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere the coating.
- Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the marinara sauce.
- Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mixture.
- Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
